Bespoke spaces designed for the home
This Charles Yorke project brings together a collection of bespoke spaces designed around the way the home is lived in. At its heart, the handleless Lyon Shaker kitchen combines timeless framed cabinetry with contemporary lines, working curved doors and a sculptural island created for cooking, gathering and entertaining.
A sweeping American black walnut breakfast bar connects visually with the bespoke wine storage and media unit, where metallic bronze fretwork, mirrored back panels and integrated wine coolers create a striking focal point. A balanced appliance wall places four Miele cooking appliances between an integrated refrigerator and freezer.
The utility room continues the Lyon cabinetry and neutral palette, providing generous storage and practical laundry space. Upstairs, the master dressing room features painted wardrobes with warm natural oak interiors, tailored hanging, drawer and shoe storage. Together, these spaces create a cohesive interior defined by craftsmanship, thoughtful organisation and understated luxury.
Curves and Contrasts
At the heart of the kitchen, the generously proportioned island combines a highly functional preparation area with a sociable focal point. The expansive light stone worktop incorporates a flush-mounted induction hob, while the handleless Lyon Shaker cabinetry provides extensive, easily accessible storage.
The softly curved corners are formed from fully functioning curved doors, demonstrating the craftsmanship and attention to detail behind the design while maximising every part of the island. These flowing lines are echoed by the sweeping, raised breakfast bar, crafted in a contrasting dark timber and comfortably seating four. Together, the layered surfaces, working curved cabinetry and contrasting finishes give the island its distinctive sculptural presence.
Seamlessly Integrated
A carefully balanced bank of tall cabinetry brings the principal appliances together within one refined composition. Four Miele cooking appliances are arranged centrally at an ergonomic height, flanked by a fully integrated refrigerator and freezer for convenient access between storage, preparation and cooking.
Handleless Lyon Shaker doors conceal the refrigeration and additional storage, allowing the cabinetry to retain its clean, uninterrupted appearance. Carefully aligned panels and consistent proportions give this highly functional appliance wall the character of bespoke fitted furniture.
Wine, Dine and Unwind
Crafted from richly toned, Wenge-stained European oak, this bespoke wine storage and media unit creates a dramatic yet inviting focal point within the open-plan kitchen. The timber’s depth and natural character bring warmth to the neutral interior, connecting beautifully with the matching breakfast bar and establishing continuity throughout the space.
The wine collection is displayed within intricate geometric fretwork, individually crafted and finished in metallic bronze. More than functional bottle storage, the repeating angular pattern gives the installation the quality of sculptural artwork. Mirrored back panels reflect the fretwork, wine bottles and surrounding room, creating an illusion of greater depth while allowing the display to change subtly with the light.
At its centre, the television is seamlessly framed by open shelving for carefully chosen objects and personal pieces. Twin integrated wine coolers sit discreetly below, complemented by concealed cabinetry providing generous additional storage. The result is a beautifully considered piece of furniture that unites craftsmanship, entertainment and the enjoyment of wine,designed not only to be admired, but to become part of how the room is lived in.

This handleless Lyon Shaker kitchen combines timeless cabinetry with clean, contemporary detailing. A generously proportioned island featuring softly curved ends and a raised timber breakfast bar creates an elegant focal point, while the neutral palette and light stone surfaces enhance the bright, open-plan setting.
Crafted from solid and veneered European oak, the cabinetry combines timeless Lyon Shaker doors with richly toned European oak elements to create a refined and beautifully balanced aesthetic. The warmth and natural character of the timber introduce depth and texture, while clean, handleless detailing gives the traditional framed design a distinctly contemporary feel.
The appliance wall and island are factory-painted in Little Greene’s True Taupe 240, contrasting beautifully with the softer outer cabinetry in French Grey Pale 161.
Wenge-stained European oak is used for the breakfast bar and bespoke wine and media unit, creating warmth and continuity. A clear lacquer preserves the timber’s distinctive grain while adding a subtle lustre.
The kitchen features 30mm Silestone Lagoon worktops with a double pencil-rounded edge, creating a soft and refined finish. A substantial 40mm European oak breakfast bar introduces natural warmth and contrast, complementing the kitchen’s richly stained timber elements.
The kitchen features Miele built-under wine coolers, a flush-mounted induction hob with a Levantar downdraft extractor, and Miele PureLine ovens, including a steam oven. A Quooker boiling-water tap completes the scheme, combining everyday convenience with a clean, contemporary finish.
