Timeless luxury kitchen and living design in a Surrey home
Kitchen | ClassicTimeless Craft, Modern Restraint
The Englemere collection by Charles Yorke strikes a refined balance between classic craftsmanship and modern restraint. Framed cabinetry in a soft painted finish introduces depth and architectural structure, complemented by subtle moulding and carefully considered hardware. From the warmth of natural materials to crisp stone surfaces, every detail is thoughtfully resolved creating a space that feels calm, cohesive and enduring.
Crafted Structure, Integrated Performance
At the centre of the space, the cabinetry by Charles Yorke defines both the character and structure of the kitchen. Crafted using traditional framed construction, each element is carefully proportioned and detailed, with subtle mouldings and refined panel work bringing a sense of depth and architectural rhythm. The soft olive-painted finish enhances the natural light, while the precision of the joinery ensures a calm, cohesive appearance throughout.
Designed not only for visual harmony but for longevity, the cabinetry balances classic craftsmanship with modern performance – seamlessly integrating appliances and storage while maintaining a clean, composed aesthetic. Paired with Armac Martin fixtures, the overall composition reflects a considered approach to materiality, detail and enduring design.
This refined framework is complemented by a carefully curated suite of appliances, combining performance with understated elegance. A Rangemaster Elise Luxe range cooker, finished in stainless steel with antique brass trim, forms a natural focal point, supported by a discreetly integrated Westin extractor. A Perrin & Rowe Phoenician 3-in-1 hot tap enhances everyday functionality at the sink, while integrated Miele appliances and a Fisher & Paykel 762mm fridge with stainless steel interior are seamlessly incorporated – ensuring the technical elements sit effortlessly within the overall design language.

Drinks Cabinet – Refined Entertaining, Seamlessly Integrated
A beautifully composed transition space that blends cabinetry and lifestyle with effortless ease. Softly painted joinery in a warm neutral tone frames the room, creating a sense of continuity while introducing a more relaxed, intimate atmosphere beyond the main kitchen.
At its centre, a bespoke drinks cabinet forms a refined focal point – featuring open shelving for glassware, a stone work surface for preparation, and integrated storage for bottles and bar essentials. Above, a dedicated wine rack adds both function and visual interest, while glazed cabinetry to the side provides elegant display for a curated collection.
The detailing remains consistent with the wider scheme, with framed doors, subtle mouldings and brass hardware lending a sense of craftsmanship and cohesion. Natural timber interiors introduce warmth and contrast, softening the painted exterior and enhancing the tactile quality of the space.
Surrounding furnishings – upholstered seating, layered textiles and gentle lighting – transform the area into a relaxed retreat, bridging the kitchen and living spaces. The result is a considered, multifunctional environment that feels both practical and quietly luxurious.

Location and Heritage
Set within the leafy surroundings of Camberley, Surrey, an area shaped by its proximity to historic estates and traditional English architecture, the design draws on a sense of quiet heritage and enduring character. The use of framed cabinetry, soft painted finishes and carefully considered detailing reflects these classical influences, reinterpreted through a more refined, contemporary lens.
Natural materials and a gentle, balanced palette echo the tones of the surrounding landscape, while the architectural structure of the joinery brings a sense of order and permanence. The result is a scheme that feels rooted in its setting – where heritage and modern living are thoughtfully brought together in a calm, cohesive design language.

Media Wall – Architectural Balance, Refined Living
A refined media wall that brings architectural clarity and quiet elegance to the living space. Symmetrically arranged cabinetry frames the central screen, with recessed shelving softly illuminated to create depth, warmth and a sense of balance. Each niche is carefully proportioned, offering a curated display for objects and artwork while maintaining a clean, uncluttered aesthetic.
The lower cabinetry continues the Englemere language, with framed panels and subtle moulding grounding the composition and providing discreet storage. A soft, neutral painted finish enhances the natural light drawn in from the rooflight above, while the warm tones of the herringbone timber floor introduce texture and contrast.
Thoughtfully integrated and precisely detailed, the design transforms a functional requirement into a considered focal point – blending craftsmanship, proportion and atmosphere to create a calm and cohesive living environment.
Dressing Suite – A Seamless Transition to Quiet Luxury
A quietly elegant moment of transition introducing the Edwardian Collection, where bespoke joinery softens the boundary between spaces. Full-height hinged doors, detailed with framed panels and inset fabric, introduce texture and warmth while maintaining the refined language of the wider scheme. The gentle, neutral palette allows the materials to speak – balancing softness with structure.
Beyond, a calm and beautifully ordered dressing space unfolds, designed with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship. Bespoke cabinetry in a soft painted finish combines full-height wardrobes with integrated drawers, creating a highly functional yet refined storage solution.
At its centre, a dedicated dressing table is framed by symmetrical joinery and a full-height mirror, enhancing both light and a sense of space. Subtle mouldings, carefully selected brass hardware and layered lighting bring warmth and depth, while the herringbone timber floor adds texture and continuity throughout.
The result is a thoughtfully resolved suite that combines practicality with understated luxury – where craftsmanship, comfort and cohesion are carried effortlessly from one space to the next.

“Renovating our classic kitchen has been transformative — every detail, from the handcrafted shaker cabinets to the seamless pull-out pantries, blends timeless English heritage with effortless luxury. Now cooking feels like a cherished time-honoured family tradition rather than a chore.”

Project Specifications
The Englemere range presents a refined interpretation of classic cabinetry, where traditional craftsmanship is balanced with a contemporary sensibility. Framed construction, elegant proportions and restrained detailing create a kitchen that feels structured and quietly architectural.
Subtle mouldings and precisely aligned panels establish a natural rhythm, bringing clarity and cohesion to the space. Rooted in heritage yet designed for modern living, Englemere offers a timeless, tailored aesthetic that feels both enduring and effortlessly resolved.
The materials are carefully selected to enhance both durability and natural beauty. Cabinetry is crafted from European oak, combining solid timber and veneers, finished in a natural tone that highlights the grain and warmth of the material—bringing depth, texture and a timeless quality to the space.
The painted finishes are thoughtfully layered to create both contrast and cohesion across the scheme. The main kitchen is finished in Farrow & Ball Treron, offering a rich, grounded tone, while the media wall is hand-painted in Farrow & Ball Slipper Satin for a softer, more understated presence. The drinks area introduces Farrow & Ball French Grey, adding depth and variation.
The dressing room is finished in Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone, providing a lighter, balancing element within the overall palette. Internally, cabinetry is finished in Egger Truffle Brown Denver Oak, with drawers and interiors colour-matched to ensure a seamless result combining warmth, consistency and refined detailing throughout.
The finishing touches bring depth and refinement to the overall scheme. In the kitchen and drinks area, 30mm Tuscany White worktops introduce a crisp, elegant surface that contrasts beautifully with the painted cabinetry, while Armac Martin Bournville handles in aged brass add warmth and a sense of heritage. Antique bronze mirrored splashbacks in the kitchen add a subtle reflective quality, enhancing light and introducing a layer of understated luxury.
Within the dressing room, Phillip Jeffries “Suit Yourself” wallcovering in Bespoke Blue is used within the door centre panels, introducing texture and richness, complemented by bespoke Turnstyle Design solid coffin leg scroll handles in fine antique brass adding a distinctive and tactile detail.
Together, these elements create a cohesive and considered finish, where materiality and craftsmanship are expressed through every detail.
