Light-Filled Architecture, Warm Natural Contrast

The Englemere range is expressed here as a refined, light-filled kitchen, where traditional craftsmanship is balanced with a contemporary sensibility. Framed cabinetry, elegant proportions and restrained detailing create a space that feels structured and quietly architectural, while the introduction of natural materials brings warmth and contrast.

Luxury Englemere Kitchen

A bright, architectural kitchen where the Englemere collection is expressed through balance, proportion and a refined material palette. Framed cabinetry in a soft painted finish lines the space, its subtle mouldings and clean panel detailing establishing a sense of rhythm and quiet structure. The composition is symmetrical and considered, allowing the joinery to anchor the room with understated confidence.

At the centre, a generous island in European oak, finished in Charles Yorke’s signature Danish oak stain, introduces warmth and contrast. Topped with crisp stone, it serves as both a practical workspace and a social focal point, seamlessly integrating seating and preparation areas.

A large rooflight draws natural light deep into the room, illuminating the textures of the materials from the tactile grain of the timber to the soft matt finishes of the cabinetry. Exposed brickwork frames the far elevation, adding character and a subtle reference to the building’s fabric, while large, glazed doors connect the interior to the surrounding landscape.

Carefully integrated appliances and considered detailing ensure the space remains clean and cohesive, while brass hardware introduces a layer of warmth and refinement. The result is a kitchen that feels both timeless rooted in craftsmanship, yet designed for modern living with a calm, enduring presence.

The Heart of the Home, Perfected

At the heart of the space, a generous island anchors the kitchen. The natural warmth of the timber is contrasted by a crisp stone worktop, into which a Villeroy & Boch Farmhouse double bowl sink is seamlessly integrated. A Quooker Fusion tap in patinated brass adds both everyday functionality and a refined, heritage-inspired detail, reinforcing the material palette.

Surrounding cabinetry is carefully designed to conceal a suite of high-performance appliances, including Gaggenau Vario comprising a wine climate cabinet, fridge and freezer with integrated ice maker. This considered integration ensures the technical elements remain discreet, allowing the architectural clarity of the joinery and the richness of the materials to define the space.

A subtle yet beautifully considered feature, where full-height cabinetry conceals a hidden pantry beyond. Seamlessly integrated within the run of framed doors, the elevation remains calm and uninterrupted allowing the joinery to read as a single, architectural piece.

Behind, a highly organised pantry is revealed, designed for both clarity and ease of use. Open shelving provides dedicated space for dry goods, jars and everyday essentials, while solid timber drawers below offer concealed storage for bulk items and heavier provisions. Tiered shelving ensures visibility at every level, and the layout is carefully proportioned so everything is within easy reach.

Discreet yet highly functional, it embodies the Englemere approach: thoughtful design that enhances daily living without compromising the overall aesthetic.

From Everyday Function to Evening Entertaining

Flowing seamlessly from the main kitchen, the utility and drinks areas continue the Englemere language with a balance of practicality and refined detail. The utility room is designed for everyday function, with lay on cabinetry in a soft painted finish, a Villeroy & Boch farmhouse sink and generous worksurfaces for preparation. Integrated laundry appliances sit neatly beneath the counter, while open oak shelving introduces warmth and accessibility for frequently used items. A suspended drying rack adds a traditional, tactile element combining utility with thoughtful design.

In contrast, the adjoining drinks area offers a more atmospheric setting for entertaining. Backlit oak cabinetry with glass shelving creates a striking display for glassware and bottles, while the layered lighting introduces depth and warmth. A stone surface provides a practical serving area, with concealed storage below maintaining the clean, architectural aesthetic.

Together, these spaces extend the functionality of the kitchen while maintaining a cohesive design language where craftsmanship, materiality and purpose are consistently expressed throughout.

Media Wall – Layered Warmth, Reimagined Living

A media wall reimagined as a warm, architectural focal point, where texture, materiality and atmosphere take precedence over convention. Rather than a simple screen setting, the composition is layered and immersive, with an upholstered backdrop framed in American oak cabinetry, finished in Charles Yorke’s Fleetwood Grey introducing softness and depth while echoing the wider scheme. Subtly illuminated shelving creates a gentle interplay of light and shadow, while low-level cabinetry grounds the design and conceals storage behind a clean, uninterrupted line.

This considered space is introduced through a playful yet refined entrance. Framed by classic joinery and detailed mouldings, the doorway maintains the architectural language of the home, while an illuminated “Cinema” sign adds a subtle sense of theatre. As the doors open, the atmosphere shifts – from light and openness into a more cocooned, cinematic environment – where deep tones, soft textiles and tailored upholstery create a sense of comfort and retreat.

The result is a media space with a distinct identity – refined, atmospheric and seamlessly integrated, where craftsmanship and design elevate both the space and the experience of entering it.

Boot Room – Where Muddy Boots Meet Wagging Tails

A thoughtfully designed boot room that balances everyday practicality with a refined, considered aesthetic. Vertical tongue-and-groove panelling in a soft muted green creates a calm backdrop, fitted with a series of hooks for coats, bags and daily essentials. Below, a built-in bench with integrated storage offers both seating and concealed space, softened with layered cushions that introduce comfort and texture.

To one side, a bespoke dog wash station is seamlessly integrated, finished in deep green glazed tiles that add richness and durability. The raised design is both functional and sculptural, with crisp lines and polished fittings that elevate a typically utilitarian feature into a statement detail.

Home Office – His & Hers, Crafted in Harmony

A refined home office where classic cabinetry meets a confident, contemporary palette. Deep navy painted joinery forms a strong architectural backdrop, its framed panels and precise proportions creating a sense of structure and order. Open shelving in natural oak introduces warmth and contrast, offering a curated display for books, objects and personal detail.

A generous, integrated desk extends into the room, crafted in oak to echo the shelving and soften the overall feel. Designed for both productivity and comfort, the layout accommodates dual workstations while maintaining a clean, cohesive aesthetic. Leather-accented handles add a tactile, distinctive finish, reinforcing the balance between craftsmanship and individuality.

Dressing Room – Boutique Storage, Beautifully Curated

A beautifully curated dressing space where bespoke cabinetry transforms storage into a refined display. Painted joinery frames the room with a calm, architectural presence, while illuminated oak shelving introduces warmth and contrast presenting shoes, accessories and personal pieces with a boutique-like quality.

Proportioned drawers below provide discreet storage, maintaining a clean and ordered aesthetic, while the balance of open and closed elements brings both practicality and elegance. Positioned to benefit from natural light, the space feels bright and inviting, softened by upholstered seating and a gentle, neutral palette.

The result is a considered and personal dressing room where craftsmanship, organisation and display come together to elevate everyday routines.

Tailored Shaker Joinery with a Decorative Twist

A traditional Shaker interpretation, where simplicity and craftsmanship are brought to the forefront. Lay on cabinetry with clean, balanced proportions reflects the enduring principles of Shaker design, while inset fabric panels introduce a softer, more decorative layer adding texture and individuality without compromising the clarity of the form.

The gentle, neutral palette enhances the sense of calm, allowing the joinery and detailing to take precedence. Open shelving to the side provides practical, accessible storage, complementing the more enclosed cabinetry and creating a balanced composition.

Finished with understated hardware and precise detailing, the design offers a timeless take on storage rooted in tradition yet thoughtfully adapted for modern living.

Location & Heritage – Ascot, Surrey

Set within the distinguished surroundings of Ascot, Surrey, the project draws on a rich architectural heritage defined by grand country houses, estate living and a tradition of refined English design. Renowned for Ascot Racecourse – home to the iconic Royal Ascot – the area carries a legacy of elegance, ceremony and enduring British tradition.

The design responds to this setting through framed cabinetry, balanced proportions and a softly layered palette – echoing the restraint and sophistication of classic interiors while introducing a more contemporary clarity. Natural materials and warm timber tones reflect both the surrounding landscape and the heritage of the area, resulting in a scheme that feels rooted, timeless and quietly refined.

"We worked with Charles Yorke on our kitchen and interiors renovation project and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, their approach was open, friendly and genuinely personal, while still delivering a high level of professionalism and expertise. They were fantastic at solving challenges on site and their aftercare has been prompt and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and already have to others - they’ll definitely be our first call for any future projects."
