Bespoke walnut and bronze bar in Belgravia, London
Living SpaceClassic detailing and modern lifestyle
This Charles Yorke bar space is a beautifully composed example of refined, architectural joinery meeting relaxed, sociable living.
Bespoke Walnut and Bronze Bar
At its heart sits a fully integrated drinks bar, framed in rich American Black Walnut timber cabinetry that immediately establishes warmth and depth. The back bar is carefully layered with antique bronze mirrored panels and softly illuminated shelving, creating a sense of atmosphere while subtly reflecting light and movement across the room. An Oriental Brown natural marble worktop introduces contrast and durability, anchoring the setting with a tactile, premium finish.
The cabinetry is detailed with classic proportions and clean lines, giving it a timeless presence without feeling overly traditional. Brass inlays are subtly integrated within the cabinetry alongside bronze centre panels, introducing layers of richness and fine detail. Handles by Joseph Giles, along with brass accents seen in the pendant lighting and bar lamps, further enhance the scheme – bringing a soft warmth that complements the timber tones and elevates the overall palette.
Above, a coffered ceiling adds architectural structure and rhythm, reinforcing the sense of craftsmanship while helping to define the bar area within the wider open-plan space. Lighting is layered thoughtfully, combining ambient ceiling lights with decorative pendants and task lighting to create a balanced, inviting glow – particularly suited to evening use.
A defining feature of the space is the arched glazed doors, inspired by the iconic storefront of the Bvlgari London Boutique. Their geometric framing introduces a strong sense of symmetry and architectural presence, while the interplay of glass and dark metalwork brings contrast and refinement. This influence subtly elevates the room beyond a traditional bar setting, introducing a couture-like quality that reflects a more design-led, international perspective.
The space transitions effortlessly into a leisure setting, with a centrally positioned pool table and a relaxed seating area beyond. Upholstered bar stools and deep, tailored sofas soften the scheme, ensuring the room feels as comfortable as it is visually striking.
Overall, the space embodies Charles Yorke’s signature – tailored joinery, carefully considered materiality, and a balance between classic detailing and modern lifestyle – resulting in a bar that feels both sophisticated and effortlessly liveable.

Walnut and Marble Media Wall with Fluted Detailing
This entertaining area forms a refined extension of the bar space, where bespoke joinery and architectural detailing come together to create a setting that is both functional and visually composed.
Crafted in rich American Black Walnut, the media wall establishes warmth and continuity, wrapping the space with a sense of cohesion and permanence. Fluted vertical panels introduce rhythm and subtle movement, softening the clean-lined form while adding depth and texture to the overall composition. A large, inset screen is seamlessly integrated above a statement fireplace, framed in Oriental Brown marble – its tonal variation echoing the material palette of the adjoining bar.
The design is carefully balanced, with gently curved end panels lending a softer, furniture-like quality to the structure. Concealed storage is fully integrated within the cabinetry, maintaining a clean and uninterrupted aesthetic that allows the materiality and detailing to take precedence.
Together, these elements create a considered and inviting environment – equally suited to relaxed viewing or social gatherings – where craftsmanship, proportion and material richness define the space.

Dining Space with Fluted Architectural Wall
This dining space forms a refined continuation of the wider entertaining environment, where architectural joinery and material richness are expressed with clarity and restraint.
At its centre, a long, elegantly proportioned dining table is paired with upholstered chairs in soft, neutral tones, creating a balanced and inviting setting for gathering. Above, a sculptural chandelier introduces movement and drama, casting a warm, dappled light that enhances the atmosphere while drawing the eye upward to the coffered ceiling.
A defining feature of the space is the bespoke American Black Walnut architectural wall, which seamlessly integrates a double-sided fireplace. One side presents as a fluted surface, its vertical rhythm adding texture and depth, while the opposing face reveals a precisely framed opening in Oriental Brown marble—introducing contrast and a tactile focal point within the dining area.
This duality allows the fireplace to act as both a visual anchor and a subtle spatial divider between dining and lounge areas, maintaining openness while establishing clearly defined zones. Gently curved corners soften the overall form, reinforcing the bespoke, furniture-like quality seen throughout the scheme.
Perimeter wall panelling continues the language of classic proportions and fine detailing, grounding the space while adding depth and architectural interest. Layered lighting, including wall-mounted fixtures and decorative elements, works in harmony with the natural materials to create a warm, intimate environment suited to both formal dining and relaxed entertaining.
Together, these elements create a cohesive and considered setting—where craftsmanship, proportion and materiality combine to deliver a quietly luxurious dining experience.

Antique Brass Wine Room
The wine room is conceived as a sculptural, architectural feature within the wider entertaining space—where precision metalwork and rich timber combine to create a setting that is both functional and visually striking.
Framed by glazed doors with refined metal detailing, the space reveals a carefully composed interior centred around a curved American Black Walnut enclosure. The geometry softens the room while enhancing the sense of enclosure, creating an intimate, almost gallery-like environment for the collection within.
Antique brass wine racking forms the defining element, its linear framework introducing rhythm and repetition while providing a precise, engineered structure for bottle storage. The warm, brushed finish of the brass complements the depth of the walnut, establishing a cohesive and sophisticated material palette.
The back panels are finished in Venetian plaster, introducing a subtle texture and tonal softness that contrasts beautifully with the precision of the metalwork. Soft, integrated lighting enhances this surface, allowing the bottles and brass framework to stand forward while creating depth and atmosphere. Low-level illumination further accentuates the curvature of the space, producing a gentle, ambient glow.
The combination of timber, metal and light results in a space that feels both highly functional and inherently luxurious—where craftsmanship and materiality are expressed with clarity, and the act of storage becomes a feature in its own right.
"We worked with Charles Yorke on our bar and living space project and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very beginning, their approach was open, friendly and genuinely personal, while still delivering a high level of professionalism and expertise. From initial concept through to design and final installation, every stage felt seamless and confidently managed. They were fantastic at solving challenges on site and their aftercare has been prompt and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and already have to others — they’ll definitely be our first call for any future projects."
