Defined by its elegant integrated handle detail, the collection delivers a seamless and uncluttered aesthetic while retaining a strong sense of craftsmanship and permanence.
In this project, the beautifully proportioned cabinetry creates a calm and balanced backdrop, allowing the richness of the contrasting timber island to become a natural focal point within the space. Generous surfaces and carefully considered proportions enhance both functionality and visual simplicity, creating an environment that feels effortlessly refined.

Seamlessly Embedded Within the Architecture
The appliance arrangement was considered as part of the wider architectural design rather than simply the kitchen layout. By recessing the fridge/freezer and wine cooler into a dedicated wall niche, the main cabinetry remains visually uninterrupted, creating a cleaner and more balanced composition across the room.
This architectural approach allows the kitchen furniture to read as a cohesive installation, while the recessed appliance wall introduces depth and subtle layering to the space. Above, the bespoke Saltire wine rack provides a distinctive feature, adding visual interest and craftsmanship while softening the scale of the appliance zone. Together, these elements contribute to a calm and highly considered interior, where architecture, furniture and function are seamlessly combined.
Supported by a sculptural pedestal base that flows directly from the island, the design feels both seamless and intentional. Integrated within the pedestal are beautifully crafted dovetailed walnut serving trays, discreetly housed within the joinery to provide both practicality and a subtle expression of craftsmanship and detail.
The curved forms soften the clean linearity of the kitchen, reinforcing the calm, refined character of the Valencia collection while enhancing the sense of connection and everyday living within the space.
A Bespoke Media Wall
Extending the design language beyond the kitchen, this bespoke media wall creates a seamless connection between the living and entertaining spaces. Designed as a fully integrated furniture piece, it combines concealed storage, display shelving and architectural detailing within a carefully balanced composition.
The television is framed within a recessed central surround, creating a sense of depth and permanence while allowing the screen to sit comfortably within the furniture rather than dominate the room. Open shelving, enhanced with discreet integrated lighting, introduces opportunities for display and decorative styling, adding warmth and personality to the space.
Particular attention has been given to the integration of technology. The three central doors within the lower cabinet are upholstered in a specialist acoustic fabric, concealing the television’s sound system while allowing sound to pass through unobstructed. This thoughtful detail maintains the clean furniture aesthetic without compromising audio performance.
Contrasting timber textures and painted finishes echo the material palette used throughout the kitchen, reinforcing a cohesive visual language across the open-plan interior. Framed by traditional panelling and integrated seamlessly into the architecture of the room, the seat transforms an otherwise overlooked alcove into a purposeful and inviting feature.
Deep upholstered cushions and tailored fabrics introduce softness and comfort, while the surrounding joinery reinforces the furniture-led character seen throughout the project. Positioned beneath the large bay window, the seat benefits from an abundance of natural light, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.

The Handleless Lyon Collection by Charles Yorke combines clean architectural lines with refined framing details to create a sophisticated contemporary kitchen. Soft warm grey cabinetry provides a calm backdrop, while the contrasting dark oak island adds depth and texture. Defined by its elegant integrated handle design and carefully balanced proportions, Lyon blends traditional craftsmanship with modern simplicity, resulting in a kitchen that feels both timeless and effortlessly contemporary.
Cabinetry is crafted from European Oak and veneered oak furniture-grade substrates, delivering exceptional durability and precision. Painted elements are paired with stained oak features to create a sophisticated material palette, balancing warmth and texture with the clean simplicity of the overall design.
The perimeter cabinetry is finished in Little Greene Lead Colour 117, creating a sophisticated and understated backdrop that enhances the architectural character of the space. In contrast, the island is finished in a Steel Grey stain with a lime wash, introducing depth, warmth and subtle texture through the natural grain of the oak. Together, these finishes create a balanced palette that feels both contemporary and timeless.
The kitchen is finished with 20mm Unique Calacatta quartz worktops and splashbacks, bringing a sense of luxury and refinement to the space.
